Among the signatories of the open letter to Nicolas Sarkozy are the author Noam Chomsky of MIT, journalist Naomi Klein, writers Eduardo Galeano and Ariel Dorfman, professor at Princeton University Cornel West, the French philosophers Alain Badiou, Etienne Balibar and Jacques Rancière, and several members of the European Parliament, including the anti-globalization activists Jose Bove, Daniel Cohn-Bendit and Eva Joly. Members of the National Assembly of France and of Quebec, and Walden Bello, a writer and an elected member of the House of Representatives of the Philippines; have also signed the letter.
