Caribbean Contradictions: Dominican Republic Immgration Policy and Persons of Haitian Descent, Peter Jordens
1 Comment »The ambassador of the Dominican Republic to the OAS has defended his government’s immigraton policy in a recent letter to The Economist magazine:(but) but the Ambassador betrays himself in the second paragraph of his letter by (focusing on) “persons born within Dominican territory of Haitian parents”….

There are many people of Haitian descent living in the Turks and Caicos Islands.
There are also issues of discrimination here.
How illegals are treated; how the children of persons ( or a person) who was illegal having a child in the TCI is dealt with; what happens to a Dominican wife who is estranged from a TI husband and then is discriminated against with the support of the Immigration authorites ( a case I tried to bring to trial); and so the list goes on.
Who ever said that the poor have a good chance of obtaining equal justice under the law?
