The current chairman of Caricom, Prime Minister Dr Kenny Anthony of St Lucia, has added his voice to those calling for breathing new life into an institution widely perceived to be comatose. In a recent speech in Barbados, he is saying that the region is facing its greatest crisis since Independence and that its institutions have not kept up with the times. But where is the action plan? Who will lead it?

As the current Chairman of the Caribbean Community, and as one who has a great deal of experience in this matter and has obviously thought a great deal about it, Prime Minister Anthony is well placed to provide leadership in addressing the problems to which he alludes.
Diagnosis is not wanting, but action.

Thanks for sharing this one. Will share with my students as well. Important points at a critical time. Now is not a time to be risk averse….I am not seeing much movement in the direction of regional integration from the current leadership in Jamaica though…. Be that as it may, integration is more important now than ever before.
