silence

the Honduras Peace Committee and a leading supporter of the National Resistance
Front against the Coup in Honduras, on
Monday 27 October. Since then no further messages have been received from Dr
Almendares and calls to his telephone numbers have been unanswered. This is an
unofficial translation. ]
Silence is
betraying the principle of defense of life and of human and universal love.
Silence is complicity in crimes against humanity, torture and the violation of
human rights.
The de fact government has declared a state of siege lasting for 45 days, with
the suspension of virtually all constitutional guarantees. A ten-day ultimatum
has been issued to the Brazilian government for President Zelaya to leave the
Brazilian Embassy, failing which the diplomatic premises will be invaded by the
military. Under these circumstances there will be virtually no elections in
November 2009 and the de facto government has absolute power to violate all
human rights in the name of peace, dialogue without the people having the right
of expression, democracy and "God bless Honduras"
We condemn the assassination of a PINU Congressional candidate named Marco
Antonio Canales Villatoro, 40 years of age, who according to police sources
"died in a private hospital in the Honduran capital, after being shot on
the way from church by two men on a motorcycle”, according to an account given
to the local media by a spokesman from the National Police, Orlin Cerrato.
Cerrato said that preliminary investigations by the National Directorate of
Criminal Investigation (DNIC), indicate that "in principle" the
murder is unrelated to the political crisis that has engulfed the country since
the ouster last June 28, of Manuel Zelaya, who returned to the cuntry on Monday..
Therefore the charge that Villaroto was assassinated by the Resistance against
the military coup is false. The methods of struggle of the resistance are
"non-violence".
Wendy Avila, a law student, has died of
severe bronchospasm as a result of exposure to toxic gases that were used
against the Brazilian Embassy and demonstrators.
Today Radio Globo was closed down by the military and freedom of communication was
terminated at Cholusat Television South. We have no information on the
situation of journalists and social communicators employed at the two stattions.
We offer them our solidarity and we demand respect for their lives and human
rights. According to the decree, that has not yet been approved or disapproved
by the National Congress, all means of expression opposed to the de facto
regime have been prohibited and freedom of expression has been stifled for all
Hondurans who oppose the current state of affairs.
We appeal to the Honduran people not to allow themselves to be provoked by
violence; to be aware that their long-suffering patience does not signify conformity;
that on the contrary it raises their morale by showing great courage at a time
of extreme adversity.
We must all costs avoid a civil war; for that is what is wanted by those with the
weapons and the power. The people are wise and they are the leaders who know
that non-violence will be our strength and hope for true peace, justice and
respect for human rights

A la
comunidad nacional e internacional debemos romper el silencio

silencio más grande del mundo.

Enmudecer
es traicionar el principio de defensa de la vida y del amor humano y
planetario. Es ser cómplice de los crímenes de lesa humanidad, la tortura y la
violación de los derechos humanos.
Se ha declarado estado de sitio según
declaraciones del gobierno de Facto por 45 días, con la suspensión de
prácticamente todas las garantías constitucionales. Un plazo de diez días al
gobierno de Brasil para que el Presidente Zelaya salga de la embajada de
Brasil de lo contrario la tropa militar invadirá la sede diplomática.
Según esta disposición prácticamente no habrá elecciones en noviembre
2009 y el gobierno de facto tiene el poder absoluto para violar todos los
derechos humanos en nombre de la paz, el diálogo sin que hable el pueblo,
la democracia y “Dios bendiga Honduras”
Condenamos el asesinato del candidato a
diputado por el PINU Marco Antonio Canales Villatoro, de 40 años, que según las
fuentes policiales “murió en un hospital privado de la capital hondureña,
después de que dos hombres en una motocicleta le dispararan al salir de una
iglesia, dijo a medios locales el portavoz de la Policía Nacional, Orlín
Cerrato. Cerrato dijo que, según las investigaciones preliminares de la
Dirección Nacional de Investigación Criminal (DNIC), "en principio"
el asesinato no tiene relación con la crisis política que vive el país desde el
derrocamiento el pasado 28 de junio de Manuel Zelaya, quien regresó el lunes al
país.
En consecuencia es falsa la acusación de que fue
asesinado por la Resistencia contra el Golpe militar. Los métodos de lucha de
la resistencia son “la no violencia”.
Wendy Ávila, estudiante de derecho murió
de bronco espasmo severo a consecuencia de exposición a los gases
tóxicos que han sido usados contra la Embajada de Brasil y los
manifestantes.
Hoy se militarizo y cerro Radio Globo y la libertad
de comunicación de la Televisión Cholusat Sur , no sabemos la situación de los
periodistas y comunicadores sociales. En todo caso nos solidarizamos con ellos
y ellas y demandamos respeto a su vida y a los derechos humanos. Según el
decreto que falta ser aprobado o desaprobado por el Congreso Nacional se
prohíbe a todos los medios expresar opiniones contra el régimen de Facto y se
amordaza la libertad de expresión de todos y todas las hondureñas que se oponen
al actual estado de cosas.
Se invita a todo el pueblo hondureño a no dejarse
provocar por la violencia; a tener paciencia histórica que no significa
conformismo; por el contrario a levantar la moral en estos momentos dolorosos
de gran coraje.
Debemos evitar la guerra civil eso es lo que
quieren los que tiene las armas y el poder. El pueblo es sabio y es el
conductor y sabe que la no violencia será nuestra fuerza y esperanza por la
verdadera paz, justicia y respeto a los derechos humanos
