V ASSEMBLY OF CARIBBEAN PEOPLE

RESOLUTION

SUPPORT FOR THE STRUGGLE OF THE PEOPLE OF MARTINIQUE



Recognizing that Martinique is an occupied country, under the colonial domination of France which deprives the Martinican people of their right to self-determination and sovereignty.

 

Recognizing that Martinique and the other colonies of the region are used by France to develop its imperialist policy and that of Europe in the Caribbean.

 

Recognizing that colonial status constitutes an obstacle to the integration of Martinique into the Caribbean space.

 

Recognizing that the presence of foreign powers in the region represents a danger for peace in the Caribbean.

 

 

The V Assembly of Caribbean People reaffirms the fundamental and inalienable right of the Martinican people to self-determination in accordance with international law

 

The ACP gives expression to its total solidarity with the Martinican people in their struggles against colonial power for its independence and sovereignty.

 

The ACP denounces the discriminatory and arbitrary policy led by France towards Caribbean people in terms of travel visas and landed status in the European Union.

 

The ACP invites the governments of the Caribbean to intervene in international institutions on behalf of the true exercise of the rights of the Martinican people, and so contribute to the eradication of colonialism in our region and in the world in accordance with the decisions of the United Nations.
